is my brief introduction. I am Sukriti Agrawal completed my graduation and post-graduation
from core forensic science, including a research work in Forensic toxicology. I
hold work experience in District Forensic Lab of Varanasi (India), done live
field crime scene investigation at Prayagraj (India) and given training to
Provincial Armed Constabulary (UP-PAC) India.
I
am starting a series of blogs related to different fields of forensic science (Ballistics,
biology, document, toxicology, serology, cyber, physics, anthropometry etc.). In
these series I will try my best to provide you information from basics to
advance forensic science.

start with Forensic Document Examination before knowing the Examination you
must be Familiar with the technical terms used in Documentation examination,
this blog is beneficial for you if you are preparing for forensic competitive exams.
In
this section you will learn all the terms used in forensic document with letter
“A”. So let’s get started.

A
2- Acronyms- Abbreviations of private and governmental agencies/organization in which the initial lettera of the words in the name are written and spoken as a single word. E.g- NATO.
3- Allograph- A writing or signature made by one person for another; or a style (Block capital, print script or cursive form) of one of the 26 graphemes of English alphabet or of the ligatures and other symbols that accompany it. (Ellis 1979).
4- Ambidexterity- Equal skill with both the hands.
5- Ampersand (ampassy)- the sign “&” used as a symbol for “and” in several hundred languages.
Ample letter- which encompasses more than the standard inner space in a given letter. Characterized by fulsomeness an expanded ovals and loops.
6- Aphasia- the loss of a previous ability to speak, or impairment of the power to use and understand.
7- Appendage or Paraph- A final pen flourish of a free sweeping line made over or under a name written as a signature; sometimes a simple terminal stroke or dot.
8- Arcade- the rounded style used to form the arches of the curved letters. e.g- n, m, h.
9- Arm- A horizontal or upward-sloping short stroke starting from the stem of a character ending free. E.g- K, E, F.
10- Ascender- Part of the lowercase letters extending above the body or x-height, e.g “b”, “d”, “h” or “k”.
11- Assisted writing- result of a guided hand, produced by the cooperation of the two minds and two hands.
