HOW CYTOKINE STORM IMPACT COVID-19 PATIENT?

HOW CYTOKINE STORM IMPACT COVID-19 PATIENT?

What you know about Cytokine storm?
How severely it effect COVID-19 patient?

Let's get started. "आप क्रोनोलोजी समझिए "!

1-  IMMUNE SYSTEM

Our immune system work in a particular order, when a foreign body enters in our body which is not recognized by our immune system then the system gets activated, these foreign bodies are called ANTIGEN which could be- bacteria, fungi or viruses.

Effective immune system response involves various thing one of which is INFLAMMATION (an important part of the process).

Inflammation has important protective function. The release of inflammatory mediators increases the blood flow to the area, which allows larger number of immune system cells to be carried to the injured tissue, thereby aiding the repairing process.

If this inflammatory response is not regulated, a "Cytokine storm" can be triggered.

2- So, What is CYTOKINE STORM

A Cytokine Storm is a form of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), it is an overproduction of immune cells and their activating compounds (cytokines), which, in a flu infection, is often associated with a surge of activated immune cells into the lungs. The resulting lung inflammation and fluid buildup can lead to respiratory distress and can be contaminated by a secondary bacterial pneumonia -often enhancing the mortality in patients.

Cytokine responses are not exclusive to COVID-19 patients. It is an immune reaction that occurs during other infectious and non-infectious disease as well.

3- ROLE of cytokines in the immune system

Cytokines are small signalling proteins that are released by cells at local high concentrations. It is characterized by the overproduction of immune cells and the cytokines themselves because of a dysregulation in the process. A severe immune reaction, leading to too many cytokine in the bloodstream can be harmful since an excess of immune cells can attack healthy tissue as well.

4- CYTOKINE STORM IMPACT COVID-19 PATIENT

In case of any flu infection, a cytokine storm is associated with a surge of activated immune cells into lungs, which, instead of fighting off the antigen, leads to lung inflammation, fluid build-up and respiratory distress which can be the major cause of mortality. If this happens, then the patient most likely to die will be relatively younger adults with apparently strong immune reaction to the infection.

CONCLUSION-  In recent updates, we have seen COVID-19 sever impact on younger adults which was quite surprising, maybe Cytokine storm is the cause of younger adult mortality.

ATTENTION to all Forensic Scientists: COVID-19 lives on in blood after death

ATTENTION !! Attention to all Forensic Scientists: COVID-19 lives on in blood after death COVID-19 has found access to enter human body through dead! The current novel COVID-19 pandemic is definitely a challenging period for every human all around the world. However a new challenge in terms of protection has arisen for forensic scientist who are involve in Forensic pathology , serology or biology as COVID-19 is capable of spreading through the blood of vermic patient. COVID-19 PRESENTING A MENACING GESTURE TO FORENSIC SCIENTIST COVID-19 is a respiratory pathogen and can be transmitted via respiratory droplets, but also through the blood of a viremic patient. You might have heard this phrase that “ dead men tells no tail unless you are in forensics ” well, there is a slight modification to this phrase in regards to present situation and that is “Dead men can spread Coronavirus while telling tails” .   I know it sounds like a movie or as if we are discussing ne...
