HOW TO MAKE WHEAT MOMOS

INGREDIENTS:

FOR MOMOS DOUGH

1.      2 cups wheat flour / atta
2.      2 tsp oil
3.      salt to taste
4.      water as required, to knead


FOR STUFFING

1.      2 tsp oil
2.      2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3.      1 onion, finely chopped
4.      2 cups cabbage, shredded
5.      1 carrot, grated
6.      1 tbsp vinegar
7.      ½ tsp pepper, crushed
8.      1 tbsp soy sauce
9.      1 tbsp chilli sauce
10.   salt to taste



INSTRUCTIONS

  1.  Firstly, prepare the dough and rest for 30 minutes.
  2.  Now in a large kadai(Pan) heat oil and saute in 2 cloves garlic.
  3.  Also saute 1 onion.
  4.  Furthermore, add in 2 cups cabbage and 1 carrot. saute slightly.
  5.  Additionally, add in 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp chilli sauce, ½ tsp pepper and salt to taste.
  6.  Mix well and stuffing is ready.
  7.  After an hour, take the prepared momos dough and knead well again for a minute.
  8.  Pinch a small ball and flatten.
  9.  Now dust with some wheat flour and start to roll using rolling pin.
  10.  Roll to almost medium thin circle. around 4 – 5 inch in diameter.
  11.  Now place a heaped tbsp of prepared stuffing in centre.
  12.  Start pleating the forming a bundle.
  13.  Furthermore, steam momos for 10-12 minutes.
  14.  Finally, serve wheat momos hot with momos sauce.
